Abundance

As it occurs with some symbols, the interpretation of abundance is the opposite of its literal manifestation. Dreaming of material wealth provokes a very nice and pleasant feeling but this kind of oneiric image should be taken with due precaution. The temporal possession could lead you into think that it is permanent and will last forever. However, as is widely known, that is not the case. Judeo-Christian tradition clearly understands this as Joseph explains the dream of seven fat cows and seven gaunt ones (the parable symbolizes the alternation between prosperity and poverty). Ultimately, this kind of dream could be reminding us we must not get used to any particular condition of abundance because chances are high it will evolve into a period of famine. This dream provides a false certainty, an external abundance that, in fact, only hides misery. In case such fortune is shared with a friend, it is a happy prediction of achievement, satisfaction, and joy.

Interesting facts

Types of sleep

There are two types of sleep that most of the humans undergo - REM and NREM. REM refers to the Rapid Eye Movement and NREM refers to Non-Rapid Eye Movement. Every individual will alternate these two types of sleep. Non-REM sleep will occur for a short period of time in the first stage of your sleep followed by the REM sleep. Dreams occur during the REM stage, where it lasts for 20 minutes. According to a researcher, J. Allan Hobson, dreams that occur in REM stage are usually forgotten when the individual wakes up. Studies conducted on patients during sleep shows that the frontal lobes in the brain, that are responsible for storing information, are inactive during the REM stage, which is the main cause for forgetting the dreams. Studies also show that this is the stage where you have the most intense dreams.

Improve memory

Improving memory can be done in a number of ways, and one of those is by having a good night's sleep. During sleep, your mind is still busy and going through the process of consolidation, where it strengthen your memories as well as the "practice" skills, which you have learned while you're awake. According to the associate professor at NYU Langone Medical Center, Dr. Rapoport says that something happens while we are all sleeping, and it helps us learn things better. Thus, if you're trying something new, you can perform it better right after you sleep.
