Sky

It symbolizes your aspirations, your deepest desires, the ultimate meaning of your actions. Not surprisingly, except in Egypt, the sky has always been associated with the masculine, to the active and to the spirit (the land, however, is linked to the feminine and passive). If in dreams you look at the sky during daylight, it is a sign of openness and clarity in your aims. The night sky, in turn, indicates order, and balance when it is starry. For Jung, at nightfall, the sky was the most appropriate place for the subject to project her unconscious. The symbolism of the constellations and zodiac signs, therefore, are archetypal expressions of the subject’s inner world. Many oneiric superstitions agree that dreaming of a blue sky heralds good luck. If it is cloudy, quite the opposite. On the other hand, some believe that a red sky in dreams portends a national disaster.

Interesting facts

Do blind people dream?

Dreams in blind people depend on the nature of their blindness. Individuals who have born blind will not have visual dreams instead they have night mares, most of them revolving around their challenges faced during the day. They experience dream through their sensory inputs like touch, smell, noise and emotions. People who were blinded after birth can experience visual dreams based on the visions or images that they have seen.

Body reactions during sleep

Most of us must have experienced hallucinations or night mares. When we experience such dreams we are unable to move or react. This stage is referred to as sleep paralysis. This type of dream occurs in between wakefulness and REM. As it occurs during the REM stage, it causes complete muscle weakness preventing the individual reacting to the dreams.
